Three teenagers have been jailed for murdering a 16-year-old boy in a row between rival gangs on a North Ayrshire beach last year.
On May 17, 2025, Cayden Moyne was convicted of a stabbing in Irvine Beach.
18-year-old Cole Turley He pleaded guilty to murderand Jay Stewart, 19, have been jailed for at least 16 years.
A third juvenile – a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons – has been jailed for at least 14 years.
Handing down his sentence, Judge Lord Scott said Cayden Moy’s death was “reasonable and unnecessary”.
The attackers traveled to Irvine, armed, intent on some measure of revenge.
He added, “It could have been anyone but Cayden’s slip and fall.”
The court heard earlier that the attackers were members of the Murray Boys gang, from East Kilbride, while Moy was a member of rival club Himshey.
The three men traveled to Irvine Beach after an altercation between the groups earlier that day.
Stewart, who was armed with an extendable stick, had previously threatened Moi on social media.
The boys threw stones at Moi and his friends – which prosecutors say was meant to lure them into the fight.
