When we leave her, GCHQ director Danny Patrick (Pegg) discovers dangerous secrets about the workings of the government and his marriage. Perhaps inevitably, things have now taken a turn for the worse. Saara (Hannah Khalique-Brown) notices an error in the flow of information that can only mean one thing: a mole in the intelligence agency. Overwhelming and running through empty corridors, Adrian Lester returns as the Prime Minister and Siân Brooke joins as Danny’s wife, a former member of MI6. Phil Harrison

The series follows five British women, as they explore their online communities and, inevitably, explore their money-making potential. Another dark and scary show series that takes the viewers inside the real murder cases. This time, Jo is found dead with a knife wound and her husband, Mohamed, is arrested. But without fingerprints that are thought to be weapons and blood that doesn’t indicate a struggle, nothing adds up. PH

The sequence ends with two coins that take time. In the late 1970s, the actress Marianne (Frida Gustavsson) has a dangerous affair with David (Gustav Lindh), which dominates when they work together at his theater. Peter Greenaway found an excellent source for his enduring obsession with art, sex, and death (notes in the sidebar) in a pamphlet written by Seiōna Shogon, a court lady in late 19th century Japan. In this vivid drama, Sei’s present-day partner is Nagiko (Vivian Wu), who finds sexual satisfaction from calligraphers on her body. She then embarks on a tumultuous affair with British translator Jerome (Ewan McGregor) and discovers a mysterious way to get revenge on the publisher who destroyed her father. Simon Wardell
