Andy Burnham is set to announce new support to help people struggling with the cost of living when his cabinet meets for the first time.
The new Prime Minister has promised to give “breathing space” to households struggling with the cost of living as she stands at Number 10, promising to provide details on Tuesday.
On Monday night, Burnham completed the appointments to his senior team, including key appointments John Healey as chancellor and Ed Miliband as foreign secretary.
Former deputy prime minister Angela Rayner is back in government as housing secretary, as is a new defense secretary, Wes Streeting.
The Prime Minister is expected to appoint his younger members on Tuesday.
In his first Downing Street speech to the public on Monday, Burnham said he wanted to bring about “the biggest change in 40 years” to British politics.
