Washington has pledged to compensate US war casualties, while Iran says it is attacking US targets across the region.

The United States is carrying out its 10th night in a row against Iranand Iranian media reporting explosions in Sirik, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and Isfahan.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the operation on Monday evening, saying that the strike was “designed to destroy the Iranian military’s ability to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz”.

Two Greek oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were hit earlier on Monday, while the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, which oversees ship attacks, said another oil tanker was hit off the coast of the Omani port city of Limah.

The night before the bombing, US President Donald Trump went on television to warn that Iran would send back US troops “many times over”. On Friday, two US soldiers he was killedand a third is said to have gone missing when an Iranian missile hit a military base in Jordan, while a US serviceman was killed in northern Iraq.

Trump repeated previous warnings that continued Iranian attacks on merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz would be met with a strong response.
