“If they’re hungry, they’ll eat, I don’t force them because I think that can put pressure on them,” says London’s Donne.

She says her daughter, Cora, two, used to be a “picky eater” but seeing others turn their noses up at certain foods at daycare made her the same.

“I’m trying not to make a big deal about it. Even if they don’t eat it, I always put the broccoli on the plate so they can see it.”

Emma suggests giving lots of options, so kids think they’re getting to choose. She always adds two or three healthy options to Alfred’s lunch box.

And when they are interested, thank them, she says. “If they say they want carrots one day, run and get them and thank them when they eat them,” says Emma.
