Catherine Syver-Brant will take up her first coaching role after retiring after being confirmed as Trent Rockets Women’s assistant coach for the 2026 edition of The Hundred.

The former England pacer, who was awarded an OBE for services to cricket last month, claimed 335 international wickets in a career spanning three decades.

“It’s time to get back into my role in cricket,” said Cyver-Brant, who will play for the Rockets between 2021 and 2023.

“I’ve had a wild three years since retiring trying to figure out what my life is like now as a mother.

“The first place I thought of was Trent Rockets. Trent Bridge is a special place, and having been involved with the Rockets as a player before, coming back as a coach was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.

“I’m moving into a new era, and I know I’ll love coaching and mentoring players of this caliber.

“I’m really excited to be over the fence and finally back in The Hundred. I can’t wait to work with this special squad.”

The 41-year-old played his last career game for the Rockets in August 2023 and the role reunites him with wife and England captain Nat Syver-Brant, who was retained by the Nottingham-based side earlier this season.

The couple’s son, Theo, was born in March last year.

Sciver-Brunt will serve as assistant to head coach Chris Reid, with former Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme White also joining his staff as fielding coach.

The Rockets’ first home matchday of this year’s competition takes place at Trent Bridge on Sunday 26 July.
