LG’s smartest OLED gaming monitor isn’t available under $400

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your gaming machine, LG’s 27-inch 27GX704A-B includes a bright WOLED panel for quick refresh, and retails for $379.99 (about $70 off) Amazon and directly from LGto set a new low price. It was originally set at $799.99, but has been available for under $500 since May.

This monitor offers a 1440p resolution with a glossy finish, which isn’t something we often see at this price point. Most OLED monitors under $400 use QD-OLED panels, which can give blacks a slightly brighter color. LG’s WOLED monitor delivers vivid blacks while the glossy coating helps colors appear rich and vivid.

It doesn’t offer speed either. The monitor has a refresh rate of 240Hz to support dynamic refresh (Nvidia G-Sync compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro), and a fast response time of 0.03ms so that games look sharp.

It comes with a solid set of ports, with two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-A ports, making it easy to connect PCs, consoles, and more. Rounding things off, the stand is also fully adjustable, allowing you to raise, lower, tilt, rotate, or rotate the display to fit the image perfectly. Or, because it has a VESA mount, you can remove it and throw it on the arm of your choice.
