AliExpress was hit with a record $625M fine after failing to comply with EU regulations



Yesterday, the European Commission slapped AliExpress with the largest fine under the Digital Services Act (DSA), over $625 million.

In a Press releaseThe EC said AliExpress failed to “promptly assess and mitigate the risks associated with the sale of illegal, unsafe, or counterfeit products on its trading platform.”

Officials found that AliExpress not only prevented work groups dedicated to removing fake and dangerous content from the platform, but also made it possible for malicious actors to avoid detection.
