‘Paper Breaker Moment’ – Watch Andy Burnham’s first speech as PM in full

Andy Burnham, the former mayor of Greater Manchester, spoke outside Number 10 today for the first time as Prime Minister since replacing Sir Keir Starmer as leader of the Labor Party.

In his speech, he promised to give the people “more breathing room”, and said that he will release a new 10-year plan for Britain later this year.

To cheers from supporters gathered outside Downing Street, he announced that his first order as Prime Minister would be to end sleep deprivation.

His predecessor, Starmer, made a farewell speech at the same venue this morning before handing in his resignation to the King.
