Golden goal… Spain wins the World Cup for the second time in its history

The Spanish national team ascended the throne of world football for the second time in its history with a decisive and valuable victory over its Argentine counterpart in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an unanswered goal after a marathon game played at the New Jersey Stadium in New York.

A goalless draw continued to be enforced until the 106th minute, when Spain managed to break down Argentina’s defense to hand La Roja the world title.

The only goal came when Pedro Porro delivered a perfect pass into the box and Nico Williams rose to head the ball to Ferran Torres, who took it with a powerful left-footed shot that found its way into the Argentinian keeper’s net for the winning and crowning goal.

With the victory, Spain won the World Cup for the second time in their history, after winning their first title in South Africa in 2010, adding a second star to their golden record and cementing their position among the best international teams, while thousands of fans were one step away from winning the top prize in the Driven Quest competition.
