Egypt’s Al Ahly seal deal for Moroccan heavyweight

In a move that reflects the Red Giants’ ambitions to strengthen their forward line and bolster their ranks with the continent’s best talent, Egyptian club Al-Ahly have officially completed the signing of flashy Moroccan striker Sofiane Benjida from Moghreb Fez as a strong addition to their squad for the upcoming season.

Sofiane Ben Jadida will arrive in Cairo in the next few days to take part in the team’s group training after suffering a negative rest period following the end of the Moroccan league competition.

The signing of Sofia Benjida comes after an exceptional season for the player with his Moroccan side Fez, where he played a key role in helping the team win the Moroccan league title.

The player proved his high scoring prowess by winning the tournament’s top scorer title with 20 goals as he scored 22 goals (20 goals and two assists) in 31 matches across various competitions.

Bin Jadida has a CV rich in professional experience. He started his career in the youth stages of the Belgian club “Standard du Liège” and rose through its ranks to the first team. He also had an outstanding experience at Raja through the various age groups, reaching the first team before a professional trial at Belgian club RWD Molenbeek, after which he returned to the Moroccan league through Morocco-Fez.

Notably, Al-Ahly club management continues its intensive efforts in the current summer transfer window to strengthen the squad with strong deals as it has already managed to include Enpi club duo Ali Mahmoud and Oktay Abdullah as part of the club’s plan to build a squad capable of challenging for all continental and domestic titles.
