Amazon is trying to switch its main shipping service to another AWS

Amazon can take part in delivering all kinds of products to your door in the near future, as its delivery network is opening up to other companies outside its market, competing directly with giants such as DHL, UPS, and FedEx. The New Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS) will provide warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and shipping to businesses “of all shapes and sizes,” including Protcor & Gamble, 3M, Lands’ End, and American Eagle Outfitters.

With ASCS, Amazon is betting that other companies will pay to use its fulfillment network — just as it pays to use its online infrastructure, which the ecommerce giant started giving to third party businesses in 2006. Amazon has been around for years to build the network to fulfill its supply, and also reduce its dependence US Postal ServiceFedEx, and UPS. In 2023, Amazon launched a new Supply Chain Workallowing other companies to use Amazon to ship products from factories.

The new service expands on this, allowing companies across the automotive, health care, electronics, clothing, and food to be able to ship their products through the Amazon network. Companies that use Amazon Supply Chain Services will be able to store their goods at Amazon’s global warehouses, while taking advantage of the fleet’s fleet of cars, planes, and trucks.

“With the launch of ASCS, we are confident that we can provide any business with the same access, reliability, and speed that we have created for Amazon customers,” said Peter Larsen, vice president of ASCS.
