Ryan Garcia vs. Connor Benn: Security closes out a heated media day

Benn, 29, previously said Garcia was “like a big baby, a spoiled brat”.

“He threw his toys out of the pram on social media, had a little tantrum,” she added.

“I’m not too worried about this little influencer. He’s not a fighter. Whatever he says, it’s not going to make a difference by September 12.”

Ben then pointed to himself and said: “12-round fight proven. I’m not going to quit, I’m not going to get down on one knee,” referring to Garcia’s 2023 loss to Garvonta Davis.

Garcia, 27, responded that Ben’s “can’t make it to 12, he’s not good enough”.

“You think I’m going to let a guy from the UK come here and beat me up and take my belt? You’re out of your mind,” Garcia added.

Born and raised in California, Garcia has Mexican heritage and often carries both the American and Mexican flags in the ring.

“Wait until I insult you and release you,” Ben added. “You have no heart. You’re not Mexican, bro.”

Garcia later said he would stop Bannon in five rounds before the stage was cleared for the fighters to face each other.

Benn’s father, former world champion Nigel Benn, stood behind him as he repeatedly shouted “you quit” and told Garcia “you have no heart. I’ll check that, I’ll check that chin”.

Garcia responded by saying: “It’s going to be easy. You’re not good enough to beat me. Your father will stop the fight. I promise you.”
