An escaped Savannah cat was found in a plant pot in a garden in Norfolk

A large cat, believed to have been roaming the countryside for two months, was found injured in a plant pot in a garden.

Norfolk Wildlife Rescue’s Kevin Murphy has been trying to track the savannah cat since she was spotted near Bramerton, south of Norwich, three weeks ago.

The animal is native to sub-Saharan Africa and has been on the loose since escaping from its home in May.

Murphy, who used a net to secure it in Bramerton, said the owner was found to be four miles away in the Norwich NR1 postcode area and the animal was taken to a vet with a broken paw.
