Lionel Scaloni revealed some of the features of Argentina’s starting line-up ahead of their 2026 World Cup final against Spain in a 15-minute training session made available to the media this Saturday evening in New Jersey.
During the training, Scaloni distributed jerseys to 12 players, and the goalkeepers did separate exercises in another part of the field.
The defensive group included Gonzalo Montiel, Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martinez and Nicolas Tagliafico.
Forwards Lionel Messi and Julián Alvarez have been given shirts, indicating they are on course to start the match against Spain, the paper confirmed. Not a single person Argentinian.
The only question mark was in midfield, where Enzo Fernandez, Leandro Paredes and Alexis McAllister were involved, along with Rodrigo De Poli, Giuliano Simeone and Giovani Lo Celso.
According to the report, the last player in the starting line-up of the final will be selected from the three: De Paul, Simeone and Lo Celso, and the rest of the positions until the final seem to be almost settled.
