Retired German star Toni Kroos has revealed his expectations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, which will take on reigning champions Argentina and Spain in the United States of America tomorrow, Sunday evening.
The former Germany midfielder believes Spain will take on Argentina in tomorrow’s World Cup final as favorites to win, provided they produce the same level that led them throughout the tournament.
Speaking on his podcast (Kroos and Kroos: The World Cup in Focus) on: Tik Tok appwho he represents alongside his brother Felix, former Real Madrid star and 2014 World Cup winner Felix, praised Spain’s ability to control matches when they controlled the flow of the game.
“If they perform like this on the pitch in the final, they will be favorites to win the match,” he said.
Kroos has warned the Argentina national team that Spain can control matches when they are ahead, explaining:
His brother, Felix Cross, highlighted the stark difference in personality between the finalists, saying: “We have a very emotional team, with tears in their eyes (of excitement) and foaming at the mouth, and they are the Argentines, on the other hand, the Spanish with their ideal objectivity.
Despite his support for Spain, Toni Kroos warned that Argentina still pose a major threat, adding: “If they are given even a small area, Argentina will exploit every loophole that appears.”
He added that the first goal could be the key to the crown, saying: “If Spain score first it will be over, then they can score three or four more.”
Spain and defending champions Argentina meet in the 2026 World Cup final tomorrow, Sunday, as coach Luis de la Fuente’s side look to win their second World Cup title and Argentina look to successfully defend their 2022 title.
