Hafiz Daraji wades into the Zakri and Al-Taamari crisis with stirring statements

Algerian journalist Hafid Daraji has waded into the heated row between Algerian coach Noureddine Zakri and Jordanian star Moussa Al-Taamari, impolitely condemning Zakri’s comments, an incident that has set social media alight weeks before the 2026 World Cup kicks off.

How did the crisis begin?

Algeria coach Noureddine Zakri, the coach of the Saudi Al-Shabaab team, ignited the crisis during a live broadcast on the TikTok platform with Algerian journalists and followers when he made a provocative statement about Algeria’s World Cup Group 10 clash with Jordan, along with Argentina and Austria.

Zachary said with remarkable confidence. “We have great players. “If we can’t beat Jordan, let’s stop playing football.”

When a follower reminded him that Jordan was a World Cup team, he retorted firmly. “I know it is, but Jordan does not reach the level of the Algerian team.”

Al-Taamari confidently answers

Zakri’s statements did not pass without a strong reaction, as the star of the Jordanian national team and player of the French “Ren” Moussa Al-Taamari commented on the words of the Algerian coach.

He explained. “I said that the Algeria-Jordan game was between brothers and sisters, I did not disparage the Algerian people or the beloved Algerian national team, but the video was not shown in full.”

Draghi puts the dots on the letters

In this controversy, Hafid Draghi stepped into the line with a position that he did not hesitate to accept, as he described Zakri’s statements as “a media error that is not worthy of a coach, emphasizing that underestimating opponents is not a characteristic of Algerian football and has no place in his dictionary.

Draghi said clearly. “It is true that Noureddine Zikri does not represent Algeria and the Algerian people, but we must correct and show our full gratitude to the Jordanian team, the runners-up of the Asian Cup and the runner-up of the Arab Cup.”

Draghi wasn’t content with that, but sent a direct message to Zachary, saying: “He must remember that we don’t accept provocations from rivals and we don’t accept any Argentinian coach provoking us with similar statements against our team, just as you don’t accept any rival team in the Saudi league provoking you or belittling you.”
