Kate Treacy, Sam Boswell and Declan Rix reunite to discuss the best betting angles for the Weatherby’s Super Sprint feature race at Newbury on Saturday.
Bint Archange led the market for the Richard Hughes team by winning the Listed Dragon Stakes on his last start but faced a typically competitive challenge, with 25 two-year-olds racing straight down from Newbury.
“I think I should be up here with Binte Archange. I think he’s worth every bit of his rating and in my stats, he has a higher mark in my stats than the BHA. He’s drawn well and has a good pace to target with speed around.
“I think he’ll have a great tow in the race and his experience will be so important because there are a lot of inexperienced rivals who can’t match the pace in this race, and Richard Hughes’ filly has four races under his belt.
“I’m siding with Etienne here for the Richard Spencer team. We see a super competitive field with a lot of Richard Hannon runners, who have a great record in the race, and they don’t have the best draw so that’s why I’m siding with the Richard Spencer runner.
“I really liked his debut on the July course at Newmarket. He took a while to settle on debut but he should have a good pace to aim for with the speed here. I think the favorite is too short and I think he’s well priced here.”
“I like these types of races with good prize money, lots of runners who have been bought cheap. I think the favorite has got a great chance after winning at Ascot and Sandown this season. Richard Hughes rates Binte Archange highly and he could be a lot better than them.
“The most pleasing thing about Sandown was how quickly he bounced back from the disappointment at Royal Ascot which I can always forgive. His Ascot run should be the turn of his legs and the speed with which he can transition. I think he’s someone we all have to live with.”
