All-Ireland hurling final: McManus looks ahead to four key matches between Galway and Limerick

Glennon has quietly been one of Galway’s most important players this campaign.

Brilliant in the semi-final, he scored three terrific points from range without neglecting his defensive duties, winning a series of battles with Darragh Fitzgibbon to close down one of Cork’s main men.

He also chipped in during the previous league defeat to Limerick with a point from play.

The challenge now lay with Hegarty, who became Limerick’s most explosive attacking threat when he received the ball and drove at defenders, almost single-handedly dragging Limerick into the semi-final against Clare.

Glennon’s willingness to get forward means this battle can swing either way: if he wins early possession and drives into Limerick, Galway can use him as an attacking weapon, but if Hegarty breaks loose in the same zone, it opens up a route straight through Galway’s half-back line.

I’m hoping sparks fly from these two.
