Former DUP leader Geoffrey Donaldson to appeal sex crime convictions

Former DUP leader Geoffrey Donaldson is to appeal against his sex conviction, it has been confirmed.

His legal team filed the papers at the Court of Appeal in Belfast on Friday.

The document details the reasons for seeking a guilty verdict on all 18 counts.

Donaldson has been in Maghaberry jail awaiting sentencing. He was charged with 18 counts of sexual assault including one rape of two women as children.
