The FCC took valuable gifts from Paramount as the company needed commercial approval



The rich and famous who poured into the Kennedy Center opera house in December were there to enjoy one of the theater’s most special celebrations: the annual honors gala.

The black event, hosted by President Donald Trump, prioritized tickets for people who donated more than $75,000 to the center. This year, it received Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone, the famous glam rock group Kiss and Grammy Award-winning pioneer Gloria Gaynor.

Among those in attendance that night were two government officials whose decisions are crucial to the future of the gala’s television sponsor, CBS, and its parent company, Paramount.
