France defender Estelle Cascarino has joined West Ham on a permanent basis

West Ham have signed France international Estelle Cascarino on a permanent deal after an initial six-month loan spell.

The defender has signed a three-year contract and joined from Serie A side Juventus.

Cascarino spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, making 12 appearances in all competitions.

The 29-year-old earned a call-up to the France squad in February and helped West Ham climb from the bottom of the table to tenth.

“I’m really happy to be back at West Ham United,” said Cascarino.

“I quickly decided that I wanted to return here permanently. From the beginning, this club has felt like home. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here.

“I’m looking forward to being here for the pre-season, working with Rita (Guarino) and her staff and this group of players.”

Cascarino made 49 appearances in three years at Juventus and won the league title, Coppa Italia trophy and Supercoppa Italiana in the 2023-24 season.

He previously had spells at Manchester United, Lyon, Paris FC, Bordeaux and Paris Saint-Germain.

“We are really happy that Estelle has extended her stay with us,” manager Guarino added.

“It was very important that we retained a defender of Estelle’s quality. His impact when he arrived in January was crucial in achieving our goal of securing our status as a WSL club.

“His experience and ability will be important as we look to improve this season and I look forward to working with him again.”
