The deadly fire has raised common questions about fire safety standards across Thailand, particularly at resorts.
Thai authorities said they are investigating. Ignore them.cHe went to the fireSurvivors said the doors were locked and there were no signs identifying emergency exits.
But some questions are whether the relevant government agencies should be held responsible for not enforcing the rules properly.
Atipat echoes these concerns. “I wish venues had higher safety standards so when we perform we can enjoy ourselves without the stress like before.
“Nowadays, if me or anyone from my band goes on stage, we think about[the fire]and I believe they’re worried and uncomfortable,” he says.
Atipat suggests that Tosakakan will mourn their loss for a season. “We may be a little confused, but we’ll rebalance and get back on track,” he said, urging fans to look forward to what’s next for the team.
Chanate said he will take time to reconsider whether he can continue to perform because of the safety concerns and the fact that he has a family, including a teenager.
“If you ask me if I like it, I will. I left a regular job to focus on music… (but) I have to think about it again. I believe everyone has fear,” he says.
The shocking memories will stay with Chanate and the other survivors for the rest of their lives, but the guitarist wants to remember the last thing he saw before chaos ensued:
“Smiles of adults at the bar enjoying our music.”
