Claudia Winkleman quits her talk show after one season.

Claudia Winkleman has announced she is quitting her BBC talk show earlier this year after just one series.

The TV presenter, who was dropped from Strictly Come Dancing last year and hosted The Traitors, fronted seven episodes of the chat show, produced by Graham Norton’s production company.

In a statement, Winkleman said she was “incredibly grateful to the BBC” for giving her the programme, but that in the end she was “too scared to enjoy it”.

“Maybe one day I’ll try another one, but right now I have the best jobs in the world and I absolutely love the shows I do,” she added.

During its seven-week run in the spring, Winkleman interviewed guests such as Lisa Kudrow, Jeff Goldblum, Niall Horan and Rachel Zegler.

Ralph Fiennes, James McAvoy, Jamie Dornan, Vanessa Williams and upcoming Strictly co-star Josh Widdicombe were among the other guests on the sofa.

In a statement, Winkleman said: “I’m very grateful to the BBC for giving me the opportunity, to the guests who agreed to come and chat with me and to the production team who were simply fantastic.

“Sometimes you have to try something to see how it fits, and I realized I was too scared to enjoy it.”

Most episodes of The Claudia Winkleman Show attract an average combined audience of between 1.5m and 2m.
