Another negotiation between Israel and Lebanon, this time in Italy.

This follows a deal brokered by the US last month, which calls for Hezbollah’s disarmament and Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

Since March, Israeli forces have killed more than 4,000 Lebanese and displaced more than 1 million. It occupies 600km² in southern Lebanon.

The talks in Rome led to the agreement to move forward, with Lebanon forcing Israeli troops to withdraw and Israel forcing Hezbollah to lay down its weapons.

But can the Lebanese army rule?

And Hezbollah rejects the deal, does the negotiation serve any purpose?
