Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli suffered a heavy defeat at their away camp in Austria in their second friendly match in preparation for the new football season 2026-2027.
Today, Wednesday, in the Austrian camp, “Al Ahli” lost 1-4 to the Holstein Kiel team, which plays in the second division of Germany.
The strange thing is that “Al Rakhi” opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the match through its Brazilian striker Ricardo Matias.
Mathias took advantage of a shot from the edge of the penalty area by his compatriot Matheus Gonçalves. The goalkeeper of the German team blocked it, but it reached him in an empty net and put it into the net.
But Holstein Kill made a quick comeback, scoring twice before the end of the first half and as many in the second half to end the match 4-1.
Al-Ahly coach German Matthias Geisel wanted to try out many elements, fielding two different teams in the two halves of the game.
The match witnessed the injury of left back Zakaria Hawsawi in the 15th minute of the first half, while new Gambian defender Abubakar Sidi Kenteh was absent for the second game in a row.
It is noteworthy that the Holstein Kiel match was the second friendly match that Al-Ahli played in its foreign camp in Austria, after winning the first one against Austrian Saalfelden with eight clear goals.
