The Algerian star is close to leaving Al-Ittihad
Algeria’s Houssem Ouar, the Al Ittihad midfielder, is close to returning to European football via the Spanish league, a dream that has been put on hold for three years.
And he said Africa Foot website “Real Betis” has agreed with “Al-Ittihad” club to permanently include Houssem Ouar in the next summer transfer period for around 5 million euros.
The website clarified that the Spanish club have also reached a final agreement with the Algerian player regarding the details of his new contract, with the condition that the deal will be officially announced once all the details have been finalised.
Ouarr thus returns to the European leagues after just two seasons at Al-Ittihad, having joined them in the summer of 2024 from Italian side Roma.
During that time, the Algerian playmaker played a key role in helping the Tigers to the La Liga and Two Holy Mosques trophy during the 2024-2025 season, before a major slump last season.
This was not the first time that Real Betis had tried to sign the 28-year-old, as they tried to sign him 3 years ago, specifically in the summer of 2023, when he was a Lyon player, but he preferred to move to Roma at that time.
It is noteworthy that Awar participated in 69 matches for Al-Ittihad in the last two seasons, during which he managed to score 28 goals and make 8 assists.
