An unidentified astronaut just went into space

Anil Menon, a NASA flight surgeon, was devastated nine years ago when his hopes and ambitions dwindled.

For the fourth time, he actively applied to become an astronaut at the US space agency, in order to fulfill his lifelong dream. Although he made it to the final stage, NASA also rejected his request at the end of this difficult project.

“I was very sad, and I accepted defeat,” Menon said. “I didn’t see a way forward. So, at that point, I gave up being an astronomer. I thought there was no chance.”
