Motorola has launched a new program Edge 70 Maxits latest phone designed for intensive tasks such as downloading videos and mobile games. In addition to having a large battery and support for fast wireless charging, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is the first Android phone to support both. 25W wireless Qi2 charging since Google launched it Pixel 10 Pro XL last year.
Other Qi2-supported Android models, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and HMD Skyline it has 15W of wireless magnetic output. The Edge 70 Max also has a larger 7100mAh silicon-carbon battery compared to 5200mAh on the Pixel 10 Pro XL, promising “all-day battery life,” although Motorola doesn’t provide any estimates. Using wires, the phone supports 90W charging that can provide up to 12 hours of power in just eight minutes.
For other features, it comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, 8GB of memory, and up to 1TB of storage. The 6.82-inch OLED display can reach 7,000 nits of brightness, according to Motorola, and has a refresh rate of 144Hz for simple games. There are two cameras on the back – a 50 megapixel Sony Lytia 710 sensor for everyday photography, and an 8 megapixel ultrawide – with a 32 megapixel selfie camera on the front of the device.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max will launch in the UK and Europe from today, with prices starting at £699.99/€799.99 (down from $950). There is no mention of US availability.
