Spotify’s Daniel Ek is bringing his fitness screening clinics to the US

When starting Spotify, Daniel Ek, Neko Health, is looking at the United States after receiving $ 700 million from a group of celebrities, entrepreneurs, and investment companies. It plans to open its first clinic in New York this year before rapidly expanding across the country.

Neko operates specialized clinics that perform full-body tests and blood tests using AI and custom-built medical equipment. Screens are designed to screen customers for things like skin cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The company says its goal is to catch problems early, prevent disease, and help people live longer.

In a Press releaseCofounder and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne said the new funding will help Neko take “that service to the US for the first time,” starting in New York and other cities this year. The company did not say where it plans to open the clinics or provide details of a timeline, or even a waiting list New York location it is now open on its website. The money will also support research and technology development, Nilsonne said, “which will help to prevent the worst.”

Neko, which was launched in 2018 but has been operating quietly until implementation in 2023is part of a growing group of companies focused on preventive care and privacy screening, a market driven in part by rising interest in longevity and biohacking and gaps in traditional hospitals that are often conservative, that intervene only when symptoms appear.
