Britain’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page faces Uzbekistan’s Nursultan Rujiboev in a middleweight bout at UFC Paris on September 5.
The 39-year-old, nicknamed MVP, last fought in March, when he won an inspiring decision over fellow Englishman Sam Patterson.
Page signed with the UFC in 2023 after nine years with Bellator, where he built a reputation as one of the most dangerous and exciting fighters in the promotion.
He has won four of his five fights in the UFC, but expressed his disappointment at not being booked against a bigger name ahead of the fight with Patterson.
Although the 32-year-old Ruzhiboev is on a three-fight winning streak and is ranked 15th in the UFC’s middleweight division, he is not a well-known figure in the sport like Patterson.
The fight with Ruzhiboev marks Page’s return to middleweight after fighting Patterson at welterweight, with the Londoner saying he will continue to compete in both divisions to maximize his pool of opponents.
Page has previously called for an all-British fight with former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
Elsewhere on the card at the Accor Arena in Paris, Lithuanian-British light-heavyweight Modestus Bukauskas takes on France’s Omar Tsai.
British featherweight Curtis Campbell also faces American Trevor Peake.
The title fight for the event has yet to be announced by the UFC.
