After a masterclass against France in the semifinals, Spain won one of their second World Cup victories.

Spain captain Luis de la Fuente said his team had revived the spirit of the 2010 World Cup victory after the order. France won 2-0 On Tuesday they sent them to the final and left them one win away from their second national title.

“I see a cheering room and a world behind us. We have recaptured the spirit of 2010,” he added, referring to Spain led by Iker Casillas who lifted their first trophy in South Africa 16 years ago.

De la Fuente praised the team that he said was built on humility, shared purpose and lack of egos, saying that Spain’s strength came from everyone walking in the same direction.
“I believe that the most important thing is to know how to choose your travel companions. If you choose the wrong travel companions, you may have a problem,” he said.
“We know that this team – not only the players, but everyone in the team – strives to achieve the same goal, with the same passion, and we are ordinary, generous people who want the best before our own interests.”
Spain, who won Euro 2024, have now equaled Italy’s record 37-game unbeaten run, but de la Fuente said his players still have room for improvement.
