Fenerbahce have signed Mason Greenwood from Marseille on a four-year deal


Fenerbahce have signed English forward Mason Greenwood from Marseille on a four-year deal.

The Turkish club said the transfer fee was 39m euros (£33.27m). It was previously suggested the total fee would be 45m euros (£38.36m).

Greenwood finished joint-second in the 2025-26 Ligue 1 Golden Boot standings behind Rennes’ Esteban Lepaul with 16.

Fenerbahce’s presidential candidate Aziz Yildirim, who was elected, and Hakan Safi both expressed their interest before the election in early June.

“Hello Fenerbahce family, thank you very much for the support you have shown me. I am very happy to be here,” said Greenwood.

Greenwood, who scored 48 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions for Marseille, Joined the French team from Manchester United In July 2024 on a £26.6m deal.

At the time, United said they had negotiated a “sizeable sell-on fee” for academy products, believed to be around 40%.

Following an internal investigation, United ruled out a return to the Greenwood club in February 2023 despite allegations of attempted rape and assault against him.

He subsequently joined Spanish side Getafe on loan for the 2023–24 season.

Fenerbahce finished second in the Turkish Super League for the fifth consecutive season and will play Poland’s Gornik Zabrze in the second qualifying round of the Champions League this month.
