Media group Atris Media announced in an official statement today, Tuesday, that journalist Josep Pedrol and the company have decided to end their professional relationship “by mutual consent”.
So more than a decade was spent at the helm of two of the most popular sports programs on Spanish television, El Chiringuito and Jogones.
According to the newspaper “Brand:The farewell ceremony will take place on July 20, coinciding with the broadcast of a special episode of the “El Chiringuito” program on the occasion of the World Cup final.
This marks the end of a 13-year partnership during which the nightly program has established itself as one of the most watched sports programs on television and digital platforms.
Atris Media confirmed in a statement that the program “El Sheringuito” during this period “has become a reference in sports information analysis and discussion, with a wide audience and an influence that exceeds the borders of television”, also noting that the program ends the season “as the leading program in its category for the second year in a row”.

The group also emphasized that the Hodgsons program presented by Pedreol on La Sexta channel was an authority on sports news in the afternoon, consistently outperforming its competitors.
On his part, Josep Pedrol himself wanted to say goodbye to the audience with a few words included in the announcement. “It’s been thirteen great years when we worked with complete freedom.
