Summer Mercato… Al-Ahli Saudi Arabia decide on fourth deal


Saudi club Al-Ahly have completed their fourth signing of the upcoming summer transfer window, although it has yet to officially begin.

The summer transfer period in the Saudi Arabian league starts on July 22It will continue until the closing on October 12.

Despite this, Al-Ahly continued their string of solid deals even before the start of the summer Mercato, as they were on the verge of completing a fourth deal to include Al-Fateh midfielder Nayef Masoud.

He said Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat Masoud will travel to Portugal in the next few hours to undergo a medical and sign his transfer contract to Al-Ahly before joining his overseas camp.

Massoud will be Al-Ahly’s fourth signing in the summer Mercato, following Saudi Arabian winger Meshal Al-Mutair from Abha, Gambian defender Abu Bakr Sidi Kente from Norway’s Tromsø and Armenian midfielder Edward Spirtsyan from Russia’s Krasnodar.

According to the newspaper, “Al-Ahly” aims to complete all its deals early in order to give them the opportunity and time to work under the leadership of German coach Matthias Yesle in the preparatory camp.

Nayef Masoud began his career with Al-Qadisiya, where he was promoted to the first team in 2020, before moving on loan to Al-Haleij in January 2024 and then to Al-Fateh in the summer of the same year.

Last season, the 25-year-old played 27 matches for the Roshan League and the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup club, scoring just one goal and providing no assists.
