Caroline Dubois is looking for the next piece of the undisputed puzzle but blasted IBF champion Elif Nur Turhan as she turned to Stephanie Hahn. Boxing news

Caroline Dubois admits she is “frustrated” to fight to defend her title instead of unification as she blasts IBF champion Elif Nur Turhan for her “ridiculous” claim and eyes a late 2026 fight with Stephanie Hahn.

Dubois is chasing the next piece of the undisputed puzzle, after unifying the WBC, WBO and Ring Magazine lightweight belts. Terry Harper is on his way to defeating his rival world champion by unanimous decision in April.

he comes back American Amelia Moore on the undercard as the UK’s unified WBC and WBO lightweight world champion in a 10-round unified championship defense MVPW-06 takes place on August 29 at the bp Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham, where each fight on the main card will see a UK vs. USA contest..

But 25-year-old Dubois and his attempts to unify his belts have hit a snag and left him disappointed with Turhan, the potential fighter who has earned the title of ‘Golden Turkish Warrior’.

“I don’t even know what happened,” Dubois revealed. “From what I’m hearing and what my promotions are telling me and my team is telling me, they made him an offer and he asked for such an astronomical, ridiculous amount. It was absurd. It was crazy.

“The amount he wanted and it was, it wasn’t even out of the room laughing. It was just something, ignore it because it was so ridiculous.

“He’s not about it. He thinks he’s something he’s not and I’m really disappointed in him and how he’s doing because it’s good to talk online. He wanted the funniest number you could want, even if I told you, you’d think I was lying.

“So he’s not just about that. He’s a joker and what you do with jokers, you just leave them alone.

“It’s retirement money. It’s never money to fight again.”

Dubois believes Turhan will fight but warned the 31-year-old from Istanbul against profanity while defending his title.

“It’s about how, how it happens and when it happens,” he said. “I know I’m going to fight Stephanie Hahn next and that’s the plan for me. So at least I have to wait for her hand. You know, she’s a joker.

“He’ll have to wait. And I really hope he can hold on to the title because our last few performances, they’ve been incredibly shaky and I can see someone taking it from him.

“He’s got a defense that’s not completely safe, double-checked and packed. I can see him losing that belt. And that never happens with that fight. So if I were, I’d get back in the gym and work on the basics, the jab being the main thing.

“He needs to get back to those basics and really study boxing because you have a good chance of being stripped of that belt by somebody.”

Battles caught Dubois’ eye toward the end of the year

Dubois now turns his attention to Hahn, an up-and-coming American boxer, a police officer and former pageant queen.

In May, she retained her WBA lightweight title and maintained her undefeated record as she secured a controversial decision victory in her highly anticipated rematch with Holly Holm.

Han, however, came up. One judge called the match a 95-95 draw, but two judges scored it 96-94..

“With Stephanie, I guess she fought recently and it was great because I got to be there. I shook her hand afterwards and we pretty much agreed on the fight and I held her,” Dubois said.

“I believe in her. I believe she’s not going to avoid that fight and we’re stoked and hopefully we can make that fight happen next because she’s there, she’s about it and I love that energy about her. So I’m going to hold her to a promise and after this defense, I’m definitely going to go after Stephanie Hahn.

“It has to happen before the end of this year. I owe MVP three fights in a year and I’m going to keep them.

“I’m going to make sure they double down on what they promised me. And I hope we can make that fight at the end of the year.”
