Groupings and tee times for the opening round of the 154th Open at Royal Birkdale, Southport, Merseyside.
Royal Birkdale’s Matthew Baldwin will hit the opening tee shot at 6.35am on Thursday, with Joe Dean – winner of the last-chance qualifier – up early with Henrik Stenson and Max Homma.
Reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy is the late-preliminary draw for the first two days, making the marquee afternoon group with 2024 winner Xander Schauffele and Ryder Cup teammate Matt Fitzpatrick.
Defending champion Scotty Scheffler is on the opposite side of the draw, with world Nos Bryson DeChambeau and Tyrell Hatton starting a bid to become the first Open back-to-back winners since Padraig Harrington.
Scheffler’s triple tees off at 9.58am on Thursday, with McIlroy’s group teeing off at 3.15pm, with both players looking to be crowned Champion Golfer of the Year for the second time.
