Today, counter-terrorism police are leading the investigation into Ann Widdecombe’s death. A 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been re-arrested on suspicion of committing, preparing or inciting a terrorist act. The investigation, carried out earlier by Devon and Cornwall police, suggested the killing was politically motivated. Counter-terrorism police South East said the change came after “new information and evidence emerged during an ongoing and complex investigation”.
