Portugal star Bernardo Silva broke his silence days after being ruled out of the 2026 World Cup with a clean sheet in the round of 16 defeat to Spain.
Portugal’s players have been widely criticized after their poor performances at the tournament in America, Canada and Mexico and their exit from the round of 16 after a disappointing defeat to Spain.
Bernardo Silva wrote on his Instagram page: “A disappointing World Cup and a big disappointment that the tournament ended so quickly, faster than we imagined.”
He concluded. “Representing our national team has been and will remain a great honor. Many thanks to the Portuguese for their support and the hope they have given us.”
