An additional £250m of funding has been announced to boost the welfare of the Jewish community

Sir Kiir said the funding would be “a step-change in policing and policing so that Jewish communities can practice their faith without fear”, while Crime and Policing Minister Sarah Jones said the government was “delivering record funding to keep Jewish people in London safe”.

Mark Gardner, chief executive of the Community Safety Trust, said increased policing and government support was “not a moment too soon”.

The package is in addition £25m emergency fund He announced after April Golders green attack. The money was described by the Met at the time as a “one-off fund” which covered the cost of returning officers to north-west London.

The Government has secured £32.4m in 2026-27 for preventative security in Jewish places, including synagogues, schools and community centres. This figure combines the £28.4m announced in February for Jewish Community Protection Aid with a further £4m allocated in May.

A number of other measures have already been announced alongside the policing package, including £7m to tackle anti-Semitism in schools and universities and expanding community engagement programmes.
