Not Harry Kane, not Marcus Rashford, not Anthony Gordon. After England qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup, the spotlight was entirely on Jude Bellingham.
The Real Madrid star returned to his best form at the tournament, taking his tally to six goals after scoring a brace against Norway as the Three Lions overturned their lead and reached the semi-finals.
Bellingham equalized by receiving Gordon’s pass and running into the penalty area before slotting the ball into the back of the net and then scoring the winner after taking advantage of a fatal mistake by goalkeeper Orian Nyland.

Bellingham seemed annoyed with Tuchel even before asking him about his style of play. He was first asked about the manager’s comments, in which he said England were lucky in the game, to which he curtly replied: “No comment”.
“We’re not going to win every game by crushing the opponent or exchanging a thousand passes,” Bellingham added. “Sometimes you have to win dirty and that’s what we did.”
He concluded his statements by stating that his relationship with the German coach does not seem to be the best.
In fact, Tuchel did not believe Bellingham deserved a starting place before the start of the World Cup, as he explained to him that he would be required to compete with Morgan Rodgers for his place and hinted at keeping him on the bench if he did not prove his worth.
But Jude Bellingham made a strong comeback in the tournament and regained his best form to become England’s first captain after a very difficult season with Real Madrid.
