Al-Ahli are ruthless… the back four end the season of the grooves tragically

Casey shines with braces

In the thirtieth round of the Saudi Roshan League, Al-Ahli defeated fellow club Al-Ukhdood 4-0 in front of a crowd of 6,214 fans in the 31st round of the Saudi Roshan League.

With the win, Al-Ahli took their tally to 69 points from 30 matches, remaining six points behind second-placed Al-Hilal at the top, while Al-Akhdoud stood in 17th (penultimate) position with 16 points.

Al-Ukhdoud have officially been relegated to the Yellow League for first-tier clubs for the current 2025-26 season, becoming the second team to leave the competition after Al-Najma.

In the 26th minute, Valentin Atangana opened the scoring for Al-Ahly, taking advantage of a defensive lapse in the grooves to give his team the lead.

Ivorian star Franck Kessi added to Al-Ahly’s lead with a second goal in the 36th minute, before the same player came back to score his second and his team’s third personal goal in the 43rd minute.

Al-Akhdu’s woes were compounded after their player Hussain Al-Zabadani was sent off in the 45th minute with a straight red card, so the team finished the match with ten men in the second half with an extremely difficult task.

In the 72nd minute, Firas Al-Brykan completed Al-Ahly’s four after receiving a pass from Ricardo Matias and scored the ball with his left foot into Al-Ahli’s net, confirming his team’s complete superiority in the game.
