Anne Widdecombe’s killing was not politically motivated, police say.

Police investigating the alleged murder of Anne Widdecombe said there was “nothing to suggest it was politically motivated”.

Devon and Cornwall Police added that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death following the arrest of the 28-year-old in Rotherham, South Yorkshire on Saturday.

The former Conservative MP, 78, was found seriously injured at her home in Hightower, Devon, on Thursday.
