McGregor vs Holloway 2: Paddy Pimblett, Michael Bisping and Islam Makhachev react to Conor McGregor’s injury

“Oh my God, McGregor’s done already? He’s done, the new guy’s in town. I get to be the face of the organization now,” Pimblett said.

“You could say it’s a changing of the guard, I can be the new face of MMA now. I finished in just 52 seconds on the biggest card of the year.”

Some speculated that McGregor, who has one fight left on his UFC contract, may have been hurt in the fight, but he posted on X to refute those claims.

“I didn’t have any injuries/injuries in the fight,” McGregor said.

“I was kicking, planting and jumping, all over the camp as well as backstage before the fight. It just came out of nowhere.”

McGregor’s fight with Holloway was a rematch 13 years later after the Irishman won a decision.

Their first meeting was at featherweight but they stepped into the octagon on Sunday as welterweights.

UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev posted on X: “Conor beat Conor, congrats Max.”
