Loum Tchaouna: Coventry City sign French winger from Burnley

Premier League Coventry City sign winger Lom Chawna from relegation Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has signed a five-year deal, Coventry said.

Reports say the deal is worth around £20 million.

Chaona joins Burnley from Lazio last summer and scored three goals in 32 appearances as the Clarets failed to retain their top-flight status.

“I am very excited to start this new season in the Premier League, I feel good and ready for the challenge,” said the former France youth international.

“I was Burnley Last season in the Premier League was incredible.

“I’m going to bring my energy, determination and leadership to the team. I’ve played in Ligue 1, Serie A and now I’m playing in the Premier League, the best league in the world, so I have a lot of experience for my young age. I can’t wait for the new season.”

After coming through the youth ranks at Rennes, he moved to Salernitana in Italy before switching to Lazio.

Championship title winners Coventry face champions Arsenal 21 August in their first league game.
