“Barcelona” has decided its position regarding the activation of Hamza Abdel Karim’s purchase contract

The Spanish club “Barcelona” has decided its official position regarding the activation of the contract to buy the young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim after the technical evaluation of his performance in the youth team.

Abdel Karim joined Barcelona at the end of the season due to bureaucratic procedures that delayed his registration until he made his debut last March, where he scored in his first game, marking a promising start to his career in Spain.

In the following months, the 19-year-old worked to adapt to Barcelona’s style of play, which relies on speed and accuracy of passing and movement without the ball, requiring him to work hard to adapt to the philosophy of the Catalan club.

Abdul Karim’s moment of brilliance came in the final round of the local tournament when he led the Youth A team under coach Paul Planas to a crushing 9-0 win over Monte Carlo, scoring 3 goals in just 15 minutes, a performance described by the coaching staff as his best since joining.

The win saw Barcelona clinch the domestic league title, defeating rivals Espanyol, while Abdel Karim showed his ability to use his physical strength and aerial prowess, reinforcing the club’s belief in the need to give him another chance next season.

Spanish publication Sport writes that Barcelona have officially informed the player of their intention to activate the buyout clause in the loan contract, in preparation for his final inclusion and transfer to Barcelona Athletic, where he will undergo a new technical evaluation to determine his readiness for a future transfer.

Egyptian side Al-Ahly are expected to receive €1.5 million for the deal, in addition to variable bonuses that could reach €5 million depending on the player’s participation and individual goals, while Al-Ahly will retain 15% of any future transfers.

The decision is a new step in Barcelona’s policy of investing in young talent from various global markets as the club continues to rebuild its sporting program on a long-term basis.
