Super League: Leigh 24-18 Castleford Tigers – Leopards boost play-off bid

Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lamm told BBC Radio Merseyside:

“There were a lot of stop-starts. We couldn’t create any momentum in the game and every time we went down the other end we made a mistake, or had a penalty against or something stupid.

“I expected that to be the case with a lot of changes this week but we still went out there and just weren’t alive and present at times.

“So I’m a bit disappointed, but we got the two points at the end and that’s what we need to do at this stage.

“It (Leigh’s penalty count) is outrageous and unacceptable from our side, but also from the other side, I just thought the game was wasted.”

Castleford Tigers head coach Ryan Carr told BBC Radio Leeds:

“We got our effort and energy which really pleased me. I thought we competed really hard.

“We’ve had six weeks for the bounce to be really good and then let ourselves down last week with what could have happened, but the response was really what I wanted to see.

“We had a couple more head knocks today, Mapes (Christian Mapapalangi) pulled out of the warm-up, Louie (Senior) Binne got 10 and we kept fighting, it was unreal.

(In the sin-bin of the elder): “He’s 6-foot-6 and he was getting as low as he could on his knees. I don’t understand that at all so I’ll get some clarification on that, but clarification after the game, game gone, unfortunately two points gone.”
