The top scorer of the Saudi Arabian league is linked to the London club. Will the deal go through?
Media reports have revealed the fact that Mexican Julian Quiñones, star of Saudi Arabia’s Al Qadisiyah, will move to Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window following his brilliance at the 2026 World Cup.
Quinones caught the eye at the 2026 World Cup in the Americas, Canada and Mexico, where he scored 4 goals and set up another in 5 games to lead his country to the round of 16 before losing 2–3 to England.
Ben Jacobs, a reliable journalist, said in a tweet on his personal account on the X website that Chelsea have not made an offer to sign Quinones, despite some reports suggesting it.
Ben Jacobs has explained that even if they receive offers to sign the Mexican striker, Al-Qadisiyah are completely against the idea of letting him go next summer, given the strong levels they have with him.
The 29-year-old produced his best performance for Al-Qadisiya last season, where he won the top scorer in the Saudi League after scoring 33 goals in 31 games, one goal ahead of England striker Ivan Toney, the Al-Ahly forward.
Since his arrival at the Eastern club, Quinones has played in 68 matches in various competitions, during which he managed to score 62 goals and make 12 assists, with more than one contribution per game.
Notably, Al-Qadisiyah team is preparing to participate in the AFC Elite Champions League for the first time in its history, having finished fourth in the Saudi Roshan League last season.
