Many cities and towns deployed drones to monitor illegal fireworks displays during America’s 250th anniversary July 4th celebrations — which resulted in $100,000 in fines at the same time and came as part of a nationwide crackdown on drone surveillance by first responders.
Police and fire departments have announced that they are using increased drone surveillance and higher fines to deter people from setting off illegal fireworks, with many departments announcing their drone videos on social media and warning that their drones will be watching in the future. Incidents related to illegal fireworks have led to significant financial losses fireinjury, and though more death every year, together with the production of air in the area and noise pollution of the neighboring residents.
This year, a $100,000 fine for illegal shooting comes from the Sacramento Fire Department in Northern California and deploys its drones for the first time on the 4th of July, according to CBS News Sacramento. Sacramento Fire Captain Justin Sylvia explained that the fire department’s drones can capture images in high-definition video to help investigators identify homes or neighborhoods using Google Maps.
