After facing a third impeachment trial on December 7, 2022, Castillo announced on television that he would dissolve Congress and enact a law in its place.
This led to the resignation of many of his ministers, and forced Congress to continue impeachment and impeachment. Prosecutors accused Castillo of treason and rebellion, and last November, he was convicted more than 11 years in prison.

Chavez was among the ministers who resigned as Castillo allegedly attempted a coup. He faced charges for his actions in December 2022, but he also sought and was admitted to the Mexican embassy last November.
Shortly after this, a Peruvian court issued an arrest warrant for Chavez, and he was sentenced to almost 11 years in prison.
Peru accused Mexico of repeatedly meddling in its internal affairs by providing protection to Castillo’s inner circle. It said the decision to grant Chavez asylum was “without love”.
He also announced the President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum “persona non grata” and prevented him from entering the country.
Mexico rejected the accusation, calling Peru’s decision to end relations “absolute and disproportionate”. He added that granting Chavez immunity is in line with international law and Mexico’s ancient culture.
Asked about Fujimori’s comments on Friday, President Sheinbaum responded cautiously, saying he had not yet spoken to the president-elect.
“We’ll wait,” Sheinbaum told reporters. They ended the relationship. Why?
Sheinbaum and his predecessor, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, have been supporting Castillo, saying he was the victim of abuse.
Fujimori, a former first lady and daughter of Peruvian strongman Alberto Fujimori, narrowly lost to Castillo in the 2021 presidential race.
This year he won his fourth presidential election – and his first victory. He is due to be sworn in on July 28, Peru’s Independence Day.
